The Top Five Beauty Must-Haves for My Purse
I have an abundance of beauty supplies at home. Everything from the dreaded eyelash curler, I have yet to master, right down to a wide array of hair whosiewhatsits and brushes to apply my flavor-of-the-day eyes hades.
But when it comes to my purse, I’m a minimalist. When I’m out and about, I usually have a few children with me, so making a pit-stop to touch up my look is a rarity.
There are, however, a handful of things I wouldn’t dare leave my home without. These items could mean the end of the world as I know it, should they not be in my delicious Vera Wang handbag.

5. Nail Kit: As I’ve said before, I’m a chronic nail-biter, however, I LOVE having longer, well-manicured nails. My secret weapon is to always have a nail clipper and file on hand, no pun intended. If I can take care of a crack or hangnail right away, I’m far less likely to start nibbling.
4. Compact with Pressed Powder and Mirror: Quick checks for a shiny nose or an evil, despicable, guerilla zit that pops up out of nowhere, are much easier when I have a mirror and powder readily available.
3. Floss Picks: I obsess about whether or not there is something in my teeth after I eat out. Pair #3 with #4 and I’m in business. Otherwise, I sit around looking wholly unattractive licking, sucking and slurping at my teeth like an idiot.
2. Lip gloss AND Lip Balm: I always have both. I like having a tinted gloss for flair, but the weather is pretty unpredictable around here and lip balm is a necessity, year-round. Plus, when my trio of mini-men want some relief for their pouts, I feel really weird about sharing my shiny, pink gloss with them.
1. A Hair Tie: I have naturally poofy, wickedly curly hair. I very seldom make it through an entire day with my hair down. It’s hot, and as the humidity rises, gets GIGANTIC. Taming my tresses with a hair tie is a life-saver.
