Beauty Workouts: Relieve Stress to Look Great

One of the most important elements of being beautiful is exercising to stay healthy. It affects every part of your body, mind, and spirit. Working out makes your body happy inside and out.

Those who routinely exercise relieve stress and feel good about themselves. Less tension, a healthy body, and a heapin’ dose of confidence to boot – what can be more sexy than that?

Stress ages the face and body. Releasing that tension in a constructive, healthful way keeps you moving even after the workout is over. The problem that many of us face, myself included, is a lack of motivation.

Sure, we know that we’ll have more energy and our bodies will be stronger and work more efficiently. Yes, working out helps us to live longer, healthier lives. We know the facts. But a slice of baklava and the Lifetime Movie Network marathon often sound much more appealing.

The bottom line is whether or not we want to get off our rears, we need to in order to stay healthy and feel beautiful, both mentally and physically. So begrudgingly, we slap on some sneakers and go to it.

The key to beauty through exercise is your frame of mind. Sometimes keeping your head in the game can be hard. If you’re thinking about a long day at work or something nasty someone said, you can lose your motivation quickly.

I’ve found that in my case, I’m more amped to work out if I’ve got a great play list to back me up. Because I’m a bonafide super-dork, I’ll sometimes imagine that whatever’s gracing my ear buds is my personal soundtrack. It brings a smile to my face and keeps my legs moving.

Having the right music with you can really change your attitude about exercising. It doesn’t matter what type of workout you prefer. The proper accompaniment makes a huge difference in your mindset. If you’re trying to pump iron to Dido or jog to Kenny G chances are, you’re not getting the most bang for your buck.

Your music should fit your mood and when it’s time to kick some tail and burn some calories a good beat makes a difference.

This is a sneak peek into my personal workout music arsenal (and yes, I know it‘s an odd mix):

“Black Betty” by Spiderbait

“Welcome to the Jungle” by Guns and Roses

“Dragula” by Rob Zombie

“Gold Digger” by Kanye West

“Firestarter” by Prodigy

“Mr. Brightside” by The Killers

“Sexyback” by Justin Timberlake

“Paint it Black” by The Rolling Stones

Being beautiful is as much, if not more, a state of mind as it is physical. If you’re feeling bogged down, angry or sad, then it’s written all over your face. Exercising is a natural cure for what ails you and the benefits are undeniable. Make a fabulous, beat-filled play list and lace up those running shoes. You’re worth the workout.
