Carry on Baggage: Makeup Packing Tips
So we all know the rules: traveling through airports today require a lot of security checks. Unfortunately this puts a damper on liquids and powders: the two main consistencies of our makeup regime. When you’re traveling, you have two options: your carry on, and your checked bag.
Your checked bag can carry much more than your carry on, but you won’t have access to it during the flight.
During the flight, you only have access to your carry on, which means all of your liquids and powders need to fit in a sandwich-sized plastic bag. You really can’t fit that much in there.
So what are your absolute necessities, for the sandwich-sized plastic bag? Here’s the checklist:
1. Travel-sized toothpaste (don’t forget the toothbrush, which doesn’t have to be in the sandwich bag, but is still necessary)
2. Compact powder (to give yourself a little touch of makeup)
3. Chapstick (keep you nice and moisturized!)
4. Oil wipes or alcohol swabs for your face (the circulating air is rough on your skin. You want to clean off the excess oil, which will make you feel much better than laying on the makeup)
5. Lipstick. A light, sheer gloss. You just want a little sparkle as you land, and lipstick is easy to apply.
